Our History

After many years of serving in various ministry capacities, Joshua noticed the trend of churches transitioning from classes that taught deep theological curricula to community groups centered primarily around relationships. Though nothing inherently wrong with the latter approach, the overall result was believers suffering from gross scriptural malnourishment. There had to be a remedy that continued offering meaningful relationships without sacrificing theologically rich training.

In 2007, God gave Joshua a vision of establishing an organization that did just this. The organization would seek to mature followers of Jesus through technology, and it would offer dynamic learning and facilitate individual discipleship within the context of a community. However, it wasn’t until 2022 that the concept fully solidified, and Joshua began laying the foundation for the organization.

In 2022, while working for Microsoft, Joshua began writing and continued to seek God’s guidance for Discipled Church after normal business hours. However, in March 2023, due to economic decline, Microsoft reduced its workforce thereby affecting Joshua’s role. It was then that Joshua and his wife knew that God was opening the door for him to pursue Discipled Church full-time.
